HECHO EN MEXICO
May 5th is “Boycott Mexican
Products” day.
05/01/06

I am urging all Native Born and
Naturalized American Citizens to boycott all Mexican made products on May 5th in
protest of the “Work Boycott” by illegal immigrants that is taking place on May
1st, 2006. If we do not buy their cheap Mexican products for a day that will
show them we mean business! Do not purchase any of the following items starting
at 12:00am on May 5th to 12:00am on May 6th; Papier-mâché marionettes, imitation
Indian blankets, piñata’s, sombrero’s, velvet paintings - Elvis, Christ, wide
eyed Mexican children, etc., tacos, guacamole, refried beans or any other form
of Mexican food (this does not apply to any food purchased from Taco Bell, Taco
Buenos or any other pseudo Mexican restaurant). By not supporting the foundation
of their National economy the illegal immigrants will bend to our will and flee
back to Mexico.
Sound pretty ridiculous? It is! But no more ridiculous than illegal immigrants
boycotting work for a day in protest of immigration laws. I’m just wondering,
what part of “ILLEGAL” do people not understand? Allow me to refresh your memory
and offer up this definition of the word as presented by Webster’s 21st Century
Dictionary of the English Language:
Illegal, adj. unlawful, illicit, against the law, illegitimate, criminal,
dishonest, unauthorized, prohibited, improper. -illegally, adv. -illegality,
n.
The foundation of our society has always been such that when you break a law you
forfeit all rights associated with that law. To my knowledge our United States
Constitution has not been changed. Likewise I am unaware of any change to the US
Code of Justice that affords anyone acting illegally and breaking the law should
just be ignored and be allowed to continue breaking the law. However there are
groups and organizations out there that want you to believe that it is OK for
people from another Country to just be able to cross our borders at will and
that it should be no more difficult than wading across a shallow river. They
would like you to be agreeable to letting people work for a wage lower than what
the job is worth, taking American jobs and driving up unemployment. These groups
want you to ignore the fact that these illegal immigrants pay no taxes yet want
the same services afforded to US Citizens. They think that you should have no
concern that illegal immigrants drive our nations highways without licenses or
insurance which drives up most peoples insurance rates. You are expected to
ignore these things and so much more and if you dare to speak out against
illegal immigration then you are labeled as a racist, non understanding or
un-American. Let me just reiterate: What part of “ILLEGAL” do people not
understand?
I am in no way racist, non understanding nor un-American. In fact I have no
problem with controlled lawful immigration, it is one of the foundations of our
country. Our forefathers were immigrants however they were “LEGAL” immigrants.
Before the Naturalization Act passed by Congress in 1790 our borders were
basically open to anyone that felt free to come and go. Congress however saw the
need to control immigration to help stabilize our borders and protect the
sovereignty of United States citizens. "The Naturalization Act of 1790 passed by
Congress employed explicitly racial criteria limiting citizenship to free white
people. This act was successfully challenged on behalf of blacks after the Civil
War. "The McCarran-Walter Act established the basic laws of U.S. citizenship and
immigration. This act, also known as the Immigration and Nationality Act of
1952, has undergone several changes since its adoption. Originally, the law
admitted only a certain number of immigrants of each nationality. But a law
passed by Congress in 1965 gave preference to immigrants with skills needed in
the United States and to close relatives of U.S. citizens. A 1990 law continued
these preferences. Aliens must be admitted as legal immigrants to get U.S.
citizenship. People who flee to the United States after being officially
certified as refugees may receive immigrant status." None of this applies to
people who enter the United States illegally. The list of penalties that apply
to those who enter this country illegally is long and ponderous yet it is very
seldom heard that these penalties have been imposed. Groups and organizations
that advocate a reduction in illegal immigration laws fail to realize that what
they are truly advocating is the abolishment of all immigration laws and to do
so would be an economic and security disaster for the United States.
At the top of this article is a photo of five people, four men and one woman.
These people are known as the Five Hummel Adventurer’s and they are the
foundation of my family in the United States. They are five European Gypsy
siblings who arrived at Ellis Island from Germany in 1880. They are starting
from top left to bottom right; CHARLES H. HUMMEL, LUCIUS HUMMEL, DANIEL E.
HUMMEL, ELIZABETH HUMMEL AND WALTER L. HUMMEL. Walter Lennox Hummel was my Great
Grandfather and eventually settled and raised his Family in Topeka, Kansas. He
was a leather worker and held the contract with the US Army for years making
mule harnesses. When the Five Hummel Adventurer’s came to the United States they
did so legally and eventually they all earned their US citizenship…. Legally!
When they arrived in this country not a one of them spoke English yet they did
not go around and demand that all school children be taught to speak German and
Rom (language of the Gypsies). They did not insist that all signs be presented
in English and German or Rom. No they did not demand that which they knew was
not theirs to demand. They knew that they were guests within a country that they
fervently hoped to become apart of so they adapted to it’s ways and it’s
prominent English language. They were thankful for the opportunity to become US
citizens and never once felt as though it was something that was “Owed” them.
They knew and appreciated the blessings that had been given to them in being
allowed to legally enter this country and make a life for their family. This is
a thing that illegal immigrants cannot know or understand. It is the pride that
comes from doing things in the proper manner of working for your legal rights
without breaking the law to do it and becoming a true part of this great country
as a legal citizen not a criminal sneaking back and forth across her borders.
The illegals motivation is only one of money and has no deeper foundation than
that. If the motivation was deeper than that then they would strive to comply
with the laws of the land not flaunt and break them. Most money that the illegal
immigrant earns does not stay in the United States, it finds it’s way across the
border and as I have already stated in this article, they do not pay into the US
tax or Social Security systems yet they expect those services to be offered to
them. That is robbery, nothing more or less. The legal Hispanic Immigrant
enriches and adds to the culture of our country the illegal Hispanic immigrant
detracts from that enrichment.
I lived for three years of my life in El Paso, Texas. I lived less than three
blocks from the Mexico border and every morning, over my coffee, I would watch
the “Border Olympics” take place from my apartment window. Illegal Immigrants
would run up the road as Border Patrol agents gave chase. I got to the point
where I started recognizing the regular participants in this game. They would
cross from a Juarez Barrio at a point on the Rio Grande that was no more than
ankle deep into my El Paso neighborhood. Once caught by the Border Patrol they
would be returned to Mexico only to cross back over illegally another day. I
cannot even imagine how much manpower, time and resources went into this daily
fiasco. Indeed at one time my own car was stolen and drove into Mexico at this
same crossing. It was easier for the thieves who stole and stripped my car to
take it into Mexico than it was for me to recover it and bring it back into the
US. The US/Mexican border is not secure and the majority of those crossing into
the US are criminals of the worst kind. Drug dealers, car thieves, smugglers,
black marketers all find their way into our country on a daily basis using the
border as a revolving door for their illegal activities.
The “Taco Curtain” which is the nickname given by some to the erratic and poor
barrier fencing along some sections of the border is an inadequate example of
keeping our borders secure. As the Chinese built the Great Wall to keep their
country safe from the invading Mongol Hordes we also MUST create a barrier, a
wall, a fence to help keep our country safe from the invading Hordes from
Mexico. But it is not enough we must also make it unprofitable for illegal
immigrants to sneak into this Country. Employers who continue to hire illegal
immigrants must be made to pay substantial fines until it becomes unprofitable
for them to hire the illegal. Social services must cease to illegal immigrants.
Those who harbor and protect illegals must also face criminal and civil
penalties. If there is not a job, shelter or safety for the illegal immigrant,
it becomes unprofitable for them to continue to enter this country illegally.
The bottom line is this. If a person wants to become a citizen of the United
States of America then do it the way millions before have done; Legally! But if
you continue to break our laws, ignore our borders and think that we owe you
when you have no respect for us then be prepared for us to have no respect for
you. The United States of America and it’s legal Citizens do not owe criminals
anything and that includes Illegal Immigrants. We are not saying that you are
not welcome here, what we are saying is if you want to be a part of our country
then do so within the boundaries of our laws!
"The elected official works for the people! You do not make promises to your
boss which are beyond your power to keep and expect to hold your position."
